the problem
A group of sample users were presented with the simple task of applying for a job, in which completed with little ease and efficiency. Craigslist’s layout made it challenging decipher where they should be looking. They struggled at each subpage to find the best way to proceed. Its interface was nearly unusable when actions needed to be taken.
test user flow
The goal was to simplify the process of using Craigslist to make it an efficient experience to connect with people and make transactions. With such a deep and varying set of services, the redesign had to be universal enough to work with all types of posts and interactions. To make the process more streamlined, an app was developed alongside for mobile use.

app visualization
The web version was further along in development when the app was started, so the lo-fi frames for the app are already more built out.
The visual language of the craigslist design is focused on clarity and conciseness. There are elements of early internet throughout as a form of homage to craigslist’s original site design.
